<br />Commission Minutes-February 17, 2009 3475 <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said a meeting will be held this Thursday with Terry Stroh to begin <br />discussions on the scope of services for the Joint Public Safety Building. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said terms of the settlement for the jail roof curb failure have been reached. <br />Each of the four responsible parties will pay one-fourth of the costs associated with repairs <br />completed by Cass County Government about five months ago. Meinecke Johnson is <br />collecting from their insurance company and in order to receive payment, they are <br />requesting the county enter into a release for property damage resulting from the curb <br />failure. She and the state's attorney have worked on a release, which needs to be signed <br />by the county. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to authorize the chairwoman <br />to sign a release for property damage. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner said the Building Committee will meet tomorrow, February 18th at 3:30 PM. The <br />committee will review the draft of the final report from Consultant Dennis Kimme, who will be <br />available via conference call. <br /> <br />The County Officials Academy sponsored by the North Dakota Association of Counties will <br />be held March 2-3, 2009 in Bismarck. Mrs. Sorum will be absent from the March 2nd <br />meeting. The four other commissioners do not plan to attend the academy, so the March <br />2nd commission meeting will be held as scheduled. <br /> <br />11. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />letter from SRF Consulting Group Inc. requesting comments on proposed <br />improvement project on two existing pedestrian bridges over the Red River between <br />Fargo, North Dakota and Moorhead, Minnesota (copy forwarded to county engineer). <br /> <br />12.
