<br />Commission Minutes-February 17, 2009 3473 <br /> <br />b. Receive monthly financial statement from the Auditor's Office for the <br />month ended January 31,2009. <br />c. Approve a permit for fireworks display to be held at 9:00 PM on May 2, <br />2009, at Starr Fireworks, 10908 38th Street South in Horace, North <br />Dakota. <br />d. Approve a charity local permit for a poker tournament to be held March <br />27, 2009, through March 29, 2009, at the Knickerbocker Liquor Locker <br />in Hickson, North Dakota, for the Ken Kjelland benefit. <br />e. Contract approval <br />Department of Justice and Department of Treasury-equitable <br />sharing agreement and certification for participation in federal <br />equitable sharing program (the Sheriff's Office has not received <br />any shared assets for a number of years, but in order to accept <br />any funds or assets the agreement must be signed). <br /> <br />6. CASS COUNTY YOUTH COMMISSION, Report bv chair of the aroup <br />Molly DeMinck, Chair of the Cass County Youth Commission and a senior at Fargo North <br />High School, was present to update the county commission on activities of the 18 high <br />school students participating in the program. Also present were some of the county <br />department representatives who serve as mentors to the youth commission, including Stan <br />Wolf and Terry Schmaltz. <br /> <br />Ms. DeMinck said their monthly meetings consist of presentations about departments within <br />county government and participation in leadership courses. They are planning a dodge ball <br />tournament in May to benefit two local organizations, H.O.P.E. which helps area children <br />with mobile disabilities, and Riding on Angel's Wings which provides equine assisted <br />activities and therapies to individuals with physical, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral <br />disabilities. <br /> <br />Mrs. Sorum asked for any suggestions or changes to the program. Ms. DeMinck said the <br />only thing she would suggest is more time for their business meetings, which last an hour <br />each month. <br /> <br />7. ROAD DEPARTMENT, Storm water pollution prevention plan/annual public meetina <br />Tim Solberg, County Planner, said a copy of the 2008 Permit Year Annual Report was <br />provided prior to today's meeting regarding the Cass County Storm Water Pollution <br />Prevention Plan. He discussed the six measures outlined in the plan, involving best <br />management practices. Mr. Solberg did not receive any written comments on the plan prior <br />to today's meeting. <br /> <br />The county commission is required to hold a public input meeting annually, in addition to <br />submitting this report. A notice was published in the official county newspaper indicating <br />this is the time and date for public input on the program. <br /> <br />The chairwoman asked for any public input. No one from the public requested to comment <br />on the proposed plan. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Pawluk seconded to receive the 2008 annual <br />report on Cass County's Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan. Motion <br />carried. <br />
