Commission Minutes-February 2, 2009 3469 REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FEBRUARY 2, 2009 1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER Chairwoman Robyn Sorum called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with all members present as follows: Scott Wagner, Ken Pawluk, Darrell Vanyo, and Robyn Sorum. Vern Bennett was absent. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Heather Worden led the Pledge of Allegiance. 3. MINUTES APPROVED MOTION, passed Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. 4. AGENDA, Order approved MOTION, passed Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve the order of the agenda with the addition of an agreement from the Road Department. Motion carried. 5. CONSENT AGENDA APPROVED MOTION, passed Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve the consent agenda as follows: On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. a. Authorize the chairwoman to sign applications for Transportation Enhancement Fund Stimulus projects. b. Receive and file Indemnity Bond on Lost Instrument for Julie Andeen; and authorize the county auditor and county treasurer to issue a duplicate check. c. Contract approval Ransom County-board of prisoners rate for 2009; Butler Machinery-governmental lease purchase assignment agreement for buyout on county lease of a motor grader before the end of the lease term. 6. SOCIAL SERVICES, Use of vacated space at Cass County Annex approved Mr. Wagner said the Veteran's Service Office recently moved from the Cass County Annex to the Cass County Courthouse. At the last Building Committee meeting, the item was discussed to determine the best use of the space. Mr. Vanyo said Annex floor plans were provided by the Social Services Director and were reviewed by committee members. Mr. Wagner said the committee recommends the space be allocated to Social Services. MOTION, passed Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Pawluk seconded to allow Social Services to use space on the Annex 4th floor, recently vacated by the Veteran's Service Office. Motion carried.
