<br />Building Committee-January 21,2009 3 <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Montplaisir seconded to direct the County <br />Administrator contact the City of Fargo to work with their professional <br />consultant to draft a detailed scope of services and cost estimate to present <br />to the Cass County Commission. Motion carried. <br /> <br />./" 5. <br /> <br />ANNEX SPACE VACATED BY VETERAN'S SERVICE, Committee approved space to <br />be used bv Social Services <br />Mrs. Johnson said the Veteran's Service Office move from the Annex to the Courthouse <br />was completed about two weeks ago. She said existing furnishings were left at the <br />Annex as furniture was ordered for their new office space. <br /> <br />Chip Ammerman, Social Services Director, was present. He said two new employees will <br />begin on February 2nd. He provided floor plans of the Annex showing locations of current <br />staff office changes, new employee office space and potential unoccupied rooms. He <br />said the only areas available for future growth are conference rooms, which may be <br />divided to allow for additional offices. He said the existing furniture will be used-the only <br />'items needed are chairs. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Montplaisir seconded to allow Social Services to <br />use the space on the Annex 4th floor, recently vacated by the Veteran's <br />Service Office. Motion carried. <br /> <br />This item will be scheduled at the next county commission meeting for final approval. <br /> <br />6. OTHER BUSINESS <br />Mrs. Johnson said a hearing on House Bill (HB) 1446 will be held next Wednesday, <br />January 28th in Bismarck. The bill involves court appropriation funding. The commission <br />chair, Robyn Sorum, asked either Mr. Vanyo or Mr. Wagner, who serve on this <br />committee, to represent the commission. <br /> <br />Judge Herman anticipates two district judges may be present at the hearing. Mr. Wagner <br />agreed to attend, and Mrs. Johnson said Sheriff Laney and his chief deputy will also <br />attend the hearing. <br /> <br />7. NEXT MEETING <br />The next meeting will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at 3:30 PM. <br /> <br />8.
