Commission Minutes-December 1, 2008 3449

Mr. Montplaisir outlined each property as follows:

The first parcel is in the City of Fargo, north of the railroad tracks on the west side of
University Drive. The state purchased the property to reconstruct the underpass on
University Drive. Taxes were not collected at the time of the transactions and the
company is now out of business.
The second parcel is also in the City of Fargo on the railroad right-of-way along 1 sl
Avenue North. A bulk oil distributor business operated at the location and has
subsequently gone out of business.
The third parcel is in Warren Township and is owned by the county. The property is
about one-third of an acre at the intersection of County Highway 15 and the railroad
line. The parcel was forfeited for back taxes, and at one time a bar was located here.
The county burned the structure and buried the debris on site. Mr. Montplaisir said
the lot is not a favorable location to build because of the buried debris and because
of the proximity to the railroad line. He recommends the county not re-sell the
property.

MOTION, passed
Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to cancel taxes in the
amount of $18,224.37 on Parcel #01-9200-01250-000; $2,125.27 on Parcel
#01-9200-02100-000; $144.45 on Parcel #67-0000-12764-000; and related
penalties and interest on each parcel.
