<br />Commission Minutes-November 17, 2008 3440 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />NOVEMBER 17, 2008 <br /> <br />1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER <br />Chairman Ken Pawluk called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with all members present as <br />follows: Scott Wagner, Darrell Vanyo, Robyn Sorum, Vern Bennett and Ken Pawluk. <br /> <br />2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />Ken Pawluk led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />3. MINUTES APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded that the minutes of the <br />previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. AGENDA, Order approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to approve the order of the <br />agenda with an addition of a quit claim deed for tax-forfeited property <br />redeemed by the former owner. Motion carried. <br /> <br />5. CONSENT AGENDA APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to approve the consent <br />agenda as follows: On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />a. Receive and file Indemnity Bond on Lost Instrument for Lloyd Thompson; <br />and authorize the county auditor and county treasurer to issue a duplicate <br />check. <br />b. Receive monthly financial statement from the Auditor's Office for the <br />month ended October 31,2008. <br />c. Approve a charity local permit to conduct a poker tournament to be held <br />December 12 through December 14, 2008, at the Knickerbocker Liquor <br />Locker in Hickson, North Dakota, for a Relay for Life benefit. <br />d. Authorize chairman to sign a release of easement to Cass Rural Water <br />Users to access county-owned property in Rud's Addition, subject to <br />state's attorney approval. <br />e. Contract approval <br />City of Fargo-technical rescue and hazardous spill containment <br />renewal contract. <br />f. Authorize the chairman and county auditor to sign a quit claim deed for <br />tax-forfeited property in the City of Reiles Acres redeemed by the former <br />owner. <br /> <br />6. ROAD DEPARTMENT, Grant applications for City of Mapleton multi-use path approved <br />Mr. Berndt is recommending the county apply for a Safe Routes to School (SRTS) grant <br />through the North Dakota Department of Transportation in the amount of $138,498.48 and to <br />also apply for a Transportation Enhancement (TE) grant in the amount of $138,498.48 to <br />construct a multi-use path adjacent to Cass County Highway 11 in the City of Mapleton.
