<br />Keith asked me to respond to Bonnie Johnson's request for information regarding the
<br />Attendant Care program in Grand Forks,
<br />
<br />1, Do you have an attendant care program?
<br />Yes
<br />
<br />2, If so, is it run by your county or by a third party?
<br />Grand Forks Attendant Care is run by Lutheran Social Services
<br />
<br />3. Is space provided, at no costs, by your county in a county building?
<br />No, LSS provides the space in their office,
<br />
<br />4, Does your county pay for any operational expenses, and if so how much?
<br />Yes, Grand Forks County does pay for any costs as contractural services associated
<br />with Attendant Care program. The contract is for approximately $21,000
<br />
<br />To summarize, Attendant Care in Grand Forks is run independently by LSS, they hire and
<br />train staff, provide for the space and programming, There are no charges billed to us when
<br />we have a child in Attendant Care. Social Services can not place directly in to Attendant
<br />Care, all placements are done by law enforcement and there must be a citation issued to
<br />access Attendant Care, A child can stay in Attendant Care for up to 48 hours, this is a
<br />recent change, down from 96 hours,
