Space & Planning Committee--May 15, 1995 SPACE AND PLANNING COMMITTEE MAY 15,1995--10:00 AM MEETING TO ORDER Chairman Bernie Ness called to order a meeting of the Space and Planning Committee at 10:00 AM on May 15, 1995, in the Commission Room at the Courthouse with the following members present: Sharon "Pepper" Toussaint, Donna Schneider, Alon Wieland, Don Eckert, Bernie Ness, Kathy Hogan, Frank Klein, Michael Montplaisir, Keith Berndt, Kathy Ziegelmann, Dorothy Howard and Bonnie Johnson, Also present were Sheriff Don Rudnick, States Attorney John Goff and Veterans Service Officer John Meyer, ATTENDANT CARE FACILITY, Location and remodelina plan approved As shown on a handout of the Juvenile Justice Center first floor plan, use of rooms 1131 and 1167 for the attendant care facility would require about $3,000 in remodeling costs, for which the county would receive reimbursement from the State of North Dakota. MOTION, passed Mr. Montplaisir moved and Mrs, Schneider seconded to approve location and remodeling plan for attendant care facility on first floor of the Juvenile Justice Center; and to authorize spending up to $3,000 from the State of North Dakota for remodeling. Motion carried unanimously. WATER RESOURCE SECRETARY, Relocation to Road Department buildina Mrs, Toussaint asked Mr, Berndt to provide a sketch of the Road Department office lay-out with the possibility of locating a work station for the Water Resource Districts (WRD) secretary, Mr, Berndt provided a sketch which includes proposed space for water resources and weed/vector control director, Mrs, Toussaint and Mr. Ness have met with WRD representatives about re-Iocating to the Road Department building, and one concern is having enough space to hold their meetings because they occasionally have need for a large meeting room. The WRD's other concern is obtaining a more permanent space so they do not have to move each time county offices need more space. MOTION, passed Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mrs, Schneider seconded to re-Iocate the Water Resource Districts secretary to the County Road Department building; and that Mr. Berndt obtain a cost estimate to remove the wall between the present conference room and lunch room in the administrative area to allow a larger conference room to accommodate the WRD when it is needed, Discussion: Mr, Wieland asked about the WRD secretary's contact with the auditor's office, and Mr. Montplaisir said most of the exchange of information is done by telephone, Mr, Eckert suggested allowing the Joint Water Resource Board to address this plan before the county takes action on it. Mrs, Toussaint said there has been communication with them up-front, and Mr, Ness said the county can approach them at the next Joint WRD meeting with this plan, Motion carried unanimously,
