<br />1. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Space & Planning Committee--May 15, 1995 <br /> <br />SPACE AND PLANNING COMMITTEE <br />MAY 15,1995--10:00 AM <br /> <br />MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chairman Bernie Ness called to order a meeting of the Space and Planning Committee at <br />10:00 AM on May 15, 1995, in the Commission Room at the Courthouse with the following <br />members present: Sharon "Pepper" Toussaint, Donna Schneider, Alon Wieland, Don Eckert, <br />Bernie Ness, Kathy Hogan, Frank Klein, Michael Montplaisir, Keith Berndt, Kathy Ziegelmann, <br />Dorothy Howard and Bonnie Johnson, Also present were Sheriff Don Rudnick, States <br />Attorney John Goff and Veterans Service Officer John Meyer, <br /> <br />ATTENDANT CARE FACILITY, Location and remodelina plan approved <br />As shown on a handout of the Juvenile Justice Center first floor plan, use of rooms 1131 and <br />1167 for the attendant care facility would require about $3,000 in remodeling costs, for which <br />the county would receive reimbursement from the State of North Dakota. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Montplaisir moved and Mrs, Schneider seconded to approve location <br />and remodeling plan for attendant care facility on first floor of the Juvenile <br />Justice Center; and to authorize spending up to $3,000 from the State of <br />North Dakota for remodeling. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />WATER RESOURCE SECRETARY, Relocation to Road Department buildina <br />Mrs, Toussaint asked Mr, Berndt to provide a sketch of the Road Department office lay-out <br />with the possibility of locating a work station for the Water Resource Districts (WRD) secretary, <br />Mr, Berndt provided a sketch which includes proposed space for water resources and <br />weed/vector control director, <br /> <br />Mrs, Toussaint and Mr. Ness have met with WRD representatives about re-Iocating to the <br />Road Department building, and one concern is having enough space to hold their meetings <br />because they occasionally have need for a large meeting room. The WRD's other concern is <br />obtaining a more permanent space so they do not have to move each time county offices need <br />more space. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mrs, Schneider seconded to re-Iocate the Water <br />Resource Districts secretary to the County Road Department building; and that <br />Mr. Berndt obtain a cost estimate to remove the wall between the present <br />conference room and lunch room in the administrative area to allow a larger <br />conference room to accommodate the WRD when it is needed, Discussion: <br />Mr, Wieland asked about the WRD secretary's contact with the auditor's office, <br />and Mr. Montplaisir said most of the exchange of information is done by <br />telephone, Mr, Eckert suggested allowing the Joint Water Resource Board to <br />address this plan before the county takes action on it. Mrs, Toussaint said there <br />has been communication with them up-front, and Mr, Ness said the county can <br />approach them at the next Joint WRD meeting with this plan, Motion carried <br />unanimously, <br />
