CASS COUNTY
PERSONNEL POLICY MANUAL

7.41

SUBJECT:

SALARY PAY FOR EXEMPT EMPLOYEES

EFFECTIVE:

June 16, 2008

PAGE 1 OF 1

Exempt employees will be paid a salary in accordance with applicable
law. Although exempt employees generally are entitled to receive
their full salary for any workweek in which any work is performed,
deductions from salary can and will be made where permitted by law.
Cass County may deduct from an exempt employee's salary for, among
other reasons:

1. Complete days of absence for personal reasons;

2. Absences taken pursuant to the Family and Medical Leave Act;

3. Incomplete initial or final weeks of work;

4. Penalties imposed for infractions of safety rules of major
significance; and

Unpaid disciplinary suspensions of one or more full days imposed for
infractions of written workplace conduct rules applicable to all
employees I including but not limited to, violations of federal or
state law, safety violations, violations of Cass County's sexual
harassment or workplace violence policies, and violations of other
written policies applicable to all employees.

The list of possible deductions is not exhaustive, and Cass County
reserves the right to make other deductions from salary where
permitted by state and federal law. Please see your Department Head
or Personnel for more information.

Cass County is committed to complying with all state and federal
regulations regarding exempt employees, and Cass County prohibits
improper deductions from salary. Consequently, if there is an error
or improper deductions in your paycheck, such error or improper
deductions must be reported to the Personnel Office as soon as
possible. Improper deductions from salary are prohibited and will be
reimbursed.
