<br />Commission Minutes-May 5, 2008 3356 <br /> <br />the process is to schedule a first reading of the ordinance, which will be considered at the <br />next commission meeting. If the sales tax is approved by voters on June 10th, a second <br />hearing and adoption of the ordinance will be held Ju ne 16th. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said the Fargo Park District will be conducting an archery tournament May <br />15th through May 20th on county-owned property in Forest River Subdivision. The park <br />district has an agreement with the county to use the land for the annual event with the <br />stipulation the county must be notified of the event. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said cleaning and striping of county parking lots will be done on May 10th, <br />weather permitting. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said installation of the second air handler replacement at the Annex was <br />completed last week. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner discussed a resolution for possible consideration at the upcoming National <br />Association of Counties (NACo) convention. In order for a resolution to be considered at <br />the convention, ten counties throughout the United States must support it. The resolution <br />in question deals with the nominating process of the NACo president and would replace the <br />current process with a 23-member nominating committee. He has been told any necessary <br />changes may be made without a resolution and commissioners were in agreement to not <br />endorse the resolution. <br /> <br />11. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />North Dakota Department of Transportation response indicating funds through the Safe <br />Routes to School program for the Mapleton multi-use path was not chosen for 2009 <br />(copy also sent to county engineer); <br />- letter from the North Dakota Department of Transportation regarding a bid opening to be <br />held on May 16, 2008, in Bismarck for a road overlay project in Cass County (copy also <br />sent to county engineer); <br />- three letters from the North Dakota Department of Transportation regarding bridge <br />structures in Cass County (copies also sent to county engineer). <br /> <br />12.
