Building Committee-January 16, 2008 1 CASS COUNTY BUILDING COMMITTEE JANUARY 16, 2008-4:05 PM 1. MEETING TO ORDER Committee Chairman Scott Wagner called the Cass County Building Committee meeting to order on Wednesday, January 16, 2008, at 4:05 PM with the following members present: County Administrator Bonnie Johnson; East Central Judicial District Judge Doug Herman; County Commissioner Darrell Vanyo and County Commissioner Scott Wagner. County Auditor Michael Montplaisir was absent. State's Attorney Birch Burdick was also present. 2. MINUTES APPROVED MOTION, passed Judge Herman moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. 3. COURTHOUSE WEST ADDITION, Updated contract addendum with Foss Architecture reviewed Mr. Wagner said an updated contract addendum has been signed by Rick Hoganson of Foss Architecture and the chairman of the County Commission, Mr. Burdick said he and Mr. Hoganson agreed on a few clarifications to language and information within the contract. 4. TIMEUNE TO INTERVIEW DEPARTMENTS, Subcommittee formed to meet with departments and report back to committee Mr. Wagner said since a contract is officially in place, interviews with departments may now be scheduled to discuss space needs. He said Mrs, Johnson and Mr. Montplaisir will be present when Foss Architecture and Kimme & Associates hold the interviews and minutes will be taken by Mrs, Worden, Mrs, Johnson will organize a conference call with Rick Hoganson and Dennis Kimme to discuss dates, Mrs. Johnson said both Mr. Hoganson and Mr. Kimme have received the space survey previously conducted by the county. MOTION, passed Mr. Vanyo moved and Judge Herman seconded to approve a subcommittee consisting of Bonnie Johnson, Mike Montplaisir, Rick Hoganson and Dennis Kimme conduct interviews with department heads to determine space needs and report back to the Building Committee. Motion carried unanimously. 5. NEXT MEETING Since department interviews most likely will be conducted within the next month, committee members decided to cancel the February meeting. The next meeting will be held Wednesday, March 1ih at 4:00 PM. 6. OTHER BUSINESS Mr. Vanyo asked about the plans for the office space on the Courthouse third floor after Regional Child Support Enforcement moves at the end of March, Mr. Wagner said space needs of each department need to be taken into
