Harwood Pedestrian and Bicycle Crossing Study - 2007

The path within the confines of the overpass structure would be separated from
the traveled vehicular lanes by:
a. Using a 2 ft X4.5 ft high Jersey barrier, or
b. Using striping for demarcating the separation between the roadway and the
sidewalk
The section at the bridge for this alternative would measure as follows: 4 ft
(shoulder) -24 ft (roadway) -4 ft (shoulder) -2 ft (Jersey barrier) - 6 ft
(pedestrian facility). This section on the overpass will be designated as a
'dismount zone' for bicyclists (Refer to Figures 4.31 - 4.32).

Conceptual Figures:

---ir -
~
! ~ \

:~:::::::::-~:~~) ~.~ \ ,~~ \ \

~ _ _ I:~ _ \u -o..rp..
