The <br />NOIth Dakota Depattment oCI'ransportation has recently changed the <br />designations of restricted roads on the Statc Highway Systt'm. I've listed <br />thc changes below: <br /> <br />Old designation <br /> <br />Ncw Designation <br /> <br />Class A <br />Class I <br />Class 2 <br />Class 3 <br /> <br />STon <br />7 Ton <br />6 Ton <br />5 Ton <br /> <br />The change is a good change in my opinion in that it's more easily <br />understood by haulers and is consistent with the way Minnesota designates <br />its roads. In order to be consistent with the State of North Dakota 1 <br />recommend that we use the same designations. This will require that we <br />modify the existing ordinance and change our spring load restriction signs. <br />The cost of changing out the signs will be about $3,000. <br /> <br />I've enclosed the revised ordinance and recommend that the Commission <br />hold I sl and 2nd readings of the ordinance and then adopt it in accordance <br />with the Cass County Home Rule Char1er. <br /> <br />SUGGESTED MOTION: Hold First Reading of the revised ()ver~ <br />Dimensional V chicle Ordinance.
