Bostwick, Needs AssessmentIProgramlDesign/Security Specs <br /> <br />Project Description: <br />· The project began with master planning and detail cost/functional analysis of <br />downtown vs. non-downtown sites. <br />· The project was developed on the outskirts of the county seat, Sturgeon Bay, in <br />an attractive natural setting offering sufficient land for the facility, expansion and <br />parking. <br />· The project is a complete two-story county justice facility incorporating space <br />for the sheriff and county jail on the first floor, and the courts and court-related <br />functions on the second floor. <br />· A single public entry serves jail and law enforcement sub-lobbies, and leads to a <br />court security checkpoint at a second floor lobby. <br />· A simple and easy-to-secure second floor lobby area allows convenient public <br />access to all courtrooms and court-related offices. <br />· The court facilities provide three jury courtrooms and space for the clerk of <br />courts, the district attorney, probate, child support, and the public defender. <br />· Court clerks have direct and convenient access to the courtrooms and the judicial <br />office area ~ia a private, secure corridor. <br />· All court-related offices have a secured waiting vestibule. <br />· A secure elevator system brings inmates directly up from the jail into secure <br />holding areas next to the court litigation areas. <br />· The Jail has 138 beds, including 40 work release beds and 24 flex-use work <br />release/jail beds. <br />· Two fixed posts control the entire jail; the Master Control post provides facility - <br />wide security. <br />· The sheriffs law enforcement area includes E-911 and emergency government <br />functions, as well as space for administration, investigations, patrol, evidence <br />storage, and a large vehicle garage. <br />
