rules, I could: (1) hire a new prosecutor and designate them as the "meth prosecutor", or (2) designate an existing prosecutor as the "meth prosecutor" and hire a new prosecutor to fill that other position, but identify the new hire as the grant attorney for the purpose of tracking the grant. Under either of these circumstances, and considering Cass County Personnel Policy 4.60, 95 (excerpted in Exhibit 3), I understand I would need to inform the new hire that they may not be eligible for continued employment if/when the grant runs out unless another position becomes available (for example, the Commission, based upon increased workload, provides for another attorney position within a future budget). There will, of course, be the issue of office space availability. I will work with the County Administrator on that issue.
