TY CHALLENGES

CO

Need to spend limited tax dollars judiciously, hard to justify a
$700,000 bridge so 4 families can reduce their travel distance to
West Fargo by 1 mile.
There are over 300 major bridges in Cass County.
70'/0 are more than 35 years old and could be expected to reach
the end of their useful life in the next 15 - 20 years. The
replacement cost of those bridges would exceed $40 million.
Over 50 of those bridges are currently considered deficient with a
replacement cost in excess of $15 million.
There are 2,300 miles of township roads in the County. All
township roads are under the jurisdiction of the townships. Hard
to justify using County Highway funds to improve this township
road when many other townships have difficulties maintaining their
roads.

.

.

.

.

.
