<br />Commission Minutes-October 15, 2007 3280 <br /> <br />8. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, Purchase orders approved for accountinQ system <br />update <br />Mr. Montplaisir submitted two purchase orders for the board to consider and if approved, will <br />update the accounting program in order to be compatible with other Windows applications. <br />He plans to submit another request at the next meeting to purchase a property assessment <br />and a special assessment system. The water resource districts will also use the special <br />assessment program and will pay for half the costs. He said two vendors are being <br />considered for the property tax system. The appraisal and special assessment software to <br />be purchased this year is compatible with Fargo and West Fargo and will enable the county <br />to provide information on the web site for use by citizens, realtors, appraisers and closing <br />companies. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to authorize the chairman to <br />sign purchase orders for an upgrade to the HTE system ($76,015) and <br />for HP Direct ($6,051) for the server to handle both this upgrade and the <br />new tax system. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />9. VOUCHERS, Approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Bennett moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve Voucher No. <br />221,155 through Voucher No. 221,577. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />10. JAIL ADDITION DEDICATION; JUVENILE DETENTION SECURITY EQUIPMENT; <br />SAFETY PROGRAM; BUILDING COMMITTEE, Committee reports <br />Mrs. Johnson said a dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony was held this morning for the <br />jail addition. She anticipates the pods will be ready to house inmates after November 1 st. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said the juvenile detention security project is underway and locks will be <br />installed this week. She expects the job to be completed by the end of October. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said October is safety month and departments are in the process of <br />conducting their annual safety reviews with staff. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner said the building committee continues to meet and within the next month a <br />contract will be submitted for consideration by the commission. He discussed the office <br />space used by Regional Child Support Enforcement and suggested the item be placed on <br />the next agenda for discussion. Mr. Pawluk agreed the commission needs to provide some <br />direction as to when the county plans to occupy the space. <br /> <br />11. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />North Dakota Department of Transportation letters regarding pavement preservation; <br />bridge inspection cycle for 2007-2008; functional classification system map updates; <br />and request for comments on any environmental concerns with four improvement <br />projects on 25.7 miles of 1-29 north of Fargo (copies referred to county engineer); <br />
