<br />Commission Minutes-October 1, 2007 3274 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />OCTOBER 1, 2007 <br /> <br />1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER <br />Chairman Scott Wagner called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with all members present as <br />follows: Ken Pawluk, Robyn Sorum, and Scott Wagner. Darrell Vanyo and Vern Bennett <br />were absent. <br /> <br />2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />Bonnie Johnson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />3. MINUTES APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Pawluk seconded that the minutes of the <br />previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. AGENDA, Order approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Pawluk moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve the order of the <br />agenda. Motion carried. <br /> <br />5. CONSENT AGENDA APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Pawluk seconded to approve the consent <br />agenda as follows: On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />a. Authorize the chairman, county auditor, county engineer and state's <br />attorney to sign the maintenance certification from the North Dakota <br />Department of Transportation for federal aid projects. <br />b. Approve a raffle permit for the Mule Deer Foundation to be held <br />November 1,2007, at The Shooting Park in Horace, North Dakota. <br />c. Authorize the chairman to send letters to Senator Kent Conrad and <br />Senator Byron Dorgan regarding H.R. 980, legislation regarding <br />collective bargaining for public safety officers. <br />d. Contract approval <br />Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota-2008 employee health <br />and dental insurance coverage; <br />Secure Our Schools grant funds-accept the 2007 grant award in <br />the amount of $78,319, and authorize the chairman to sign the <br />award documents. <br /> <br />6. EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT, Approve Homeland Security and Law Enforcement <br />Terrorism Prevention arant funds <br />Dave Rogness, Emergency Manager, was present. Cass County has been awarded <br />$224,237 in 2007 Homeland Security grant funds and $93,644 in 2007 Law Enforcement <br />Terrorism Prevention grant funds, which is 60% of what was received last year. He said the <br />allocations continue to decrease each year. The funding is available to all emergency <br />response and government support agencies in Cass County. <br />
