If your project is part of a plan, explain the background and origin of the plan and <br />attach supporting documentation. <br />Yes, the FM Metro COG completed a study on this project in 2007. Please <br />see attached study for further infonnation. <br /> <br />3. Is your project tied to another project? If so, please explain. <br />Weare requesting that the N 01111 Dakota Department of Transportation <br />consider this application as a supplement to the Project Concept Report for <br />DOT Project No's IM-8-029(097)069 and IM-8-029(089)069. <br /> <br />4. How does your project fit with similar projects in your community and/or region? <br />This project is in-line with the Cass County Highway Departments mission <br />to "provide and maintain an efficient, safe, environmentally sensitive, and <br />cost effective county tramportation system to e.ffectively meet citizen's needs <br />for personal mobility and movement <?f goods consistent with the importance <br />of tramportation ". Specifically the project will serve to increase safety <br />along Cass County Highway 22 by offering a safer alternative to the cUlTent <br />combined use of the highway for motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians. <br /> <br />5. What is the population of the community in which the project is proposed? <br />694 (2007 Estimate) <br /> <br />6. What is the population within one-half mile of the project? <br />694 (estimate) The path will span an area that will be within short proximity <br />to the entire community. <br /> <br />7. What is the estimated number of people per year you believe wi.ll use the <br />completed project? <br />Pedestrian and bicyclist traffic counts were 91 per weekday and 64 per <br />weekend day from a recent FM Meb:'o COG study equaling 29,990 users per <br />year. <br /> <br />6 <br />
