<br />Commission Minutes-September 17, 2007 3269 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />SEPTEMBER 17, 2007 <br /> <br />1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER <br />Chairman Scott Wagner called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with all members present as <br />follows: Ken Pawluk, Darrell Vanyo, Robyn Sorum, Vern Bennett and Scott Wagner. <br /> <br />2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />Darrell Vanyo led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />3. MINUTES APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Bennett moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded that the minutes of the <br />previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. AGENDA, Order approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Pawluk seconded to approve the order of the <br />agenda with the addition of a Lost Instrument Bond, Sheriff's Department <br />grant award and Sheriff's Department contract. Motion carried. <br /> <br />5. CONSENT AGENDA APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve the consent <br />agenda as follows: On roll call vote, the motion carried with four <br />members voting "Yes" and Mr. Pawluk abstaining. <br /> <br />a. Approve omitted assessments according to notices sent to property <br />owners by the county auditor. <br />b. Receive monthly financial statement from the Auditor's Office for the <br />month ended August 31,2007. <br />c. Receive and file Indemnity Bond on Lost Instruments for Ken Pawluk, <br />Amanda Henrickson, and Beth Berg; and authorize the county auditor <br />and county treasurer to issue duplicate checks. <br />d. Authorize the chairman to sign a letter of support to the City of Buffalo <br />for changes to the city's renaissance zone program. <br />e. Authorize the chairman to sign the registration form to choose <br />participation Option 2 and designate Cass County Planner Timothy <br />Solberg as the official Cass County Government Local Update of <br />Census Addresses (LUCA) liaison for the 2010 census. <br />f. Contract approval <br />- Drug Task Force grant funds-accept the 2007 Edward Byrne Memorial <br />Justice Assistance Grant Award (JAG) in the amount of $84,709, and <br />authorize the chairman to sign the award documents; <br />- North Dakota Department of Transportation-traffic safety grant in the <br />amount of $10,000 for overtime expenses to remove alcohol and drug <br />impaired drivers from roadways. <br />
