Pesticide Environmental Stewardship Program

The Pesticide Environmental Stewardship Program Project Grants are
administered by the National Foundation for Integrated Pest Management
Education, under a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency's Office of Pesticide Programs. The goal of the grant is to
reduce the risks from the use of pesticides in agricultural and non-agricultural
settings in the U. S.

The focus of the project should focus on the flowing areas:

· Outreach, communication and information networks to promote use of
reduced risk pest control methods
· Promoting use of bio-pesticides and reduced risk pesticides

Development of outcomes and performance measurements to enhance
the ability of Integrated Pest Management practitioners to measure the
effectiveness of reduced risk pest management techniques.

These grants will reimburse up to $40,000 of project costs. Cass County Vector
Control is currently working to use all biological or reduced risk pesticide when
possible. Our goals are consistent with those required for this grant.

K:\Wagner~VECTOR-PESTICIDE12-15-03.doc
