Commission Minutes-August 13, 2007 3259 MOTION, passed Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to remove $34,500 for one 4-wheeler and one 3/4 ton pickup from the Sheriff's Department budget. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Pawluk briefly discussed the request for four pickup trucks in the Road Department budget for $125,000. MOTION, passed Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Bennett seconded to reduce the vehicle line item for the Road Department to $62,500. Discussion: Mr. Wagner and Mr. Vanyo prefer talking with the county engineer before approving this cut. On roll call vote, the motion carried with three members voting "Yes" and Mr. Vanyo and Mr. Wagner voting "No". The board discussed the work release/classification position that is included in the Jail budget and agreed the salary be paid from the commissary fund. MOTION, passed Mr. Vanyo moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to take $51,274 out of the Commissary Fund to pay for the B32 Work Release Officer in the Jail budget. On roll vote, the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Pawluk asked if other items in the Jail budget may be paid from the jail construction fund. He asked Chief Deputy Glenn Ellingsberg to consider this request and provide additional information to the board. Mr. Montplaisir believes after the cuts approved by the commission over the last week, the budget is approximately $500,000 higher in expenditures than revenues for 2008. Mr. Montplaisir will provide further information between now and the budget hearing scheduled for the second meeting in September. The board has until October 1 st to approve the final budget. 21. ADJOURNMENT MOTION, passed On motion by Mr. Pawluk, seconded by Mr. Vanyo, and all in favor, the meeting was adjourned at 4:25 PM.
