<br />Commission Minutes-August 8, 2007 <br /> <br />3243 <br /> <br />This year they have been involved with promoting ethanol. Mr. Pawluk serves on the Lake <br />Agassiz Regional Council board and said all dollars spent receive a great amount of <br />consideration. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Pawluk moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve the <br />2008 preliminary budget for the Lake Agassiz Regional Council <br />in the amount of $15,000. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />9. FARGO CASS PUBLIC HEALTH <br />Mary Kay Herrmann, Director of Fargo Cass Public Health, Melissa Perala, and Myron <br />Berglund were present. The budget request for Fargo Cass Public Health increased by <br />3.9% for cost of living increases compared to 2007. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Pawluk seconded to approve the <br />2008 preliminary budget for Fargo Cass Public Health in the <br />amount of $542,088 and for $279,618 for Cass County Jail <br />Health. Discussion: Mr. Vanyo questioned the source of <br />revenue not budgeted by the City of Fargo, Cass County and <br />state aid. Ms. Herrmann said additional funding is obtained <br />through grants. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />10. FIRST LINK <br />Kristi Crawford, Executive Director of First Link, was present. She discussed their program <br />and said their agency has 350 volunteers trained in disaster management. They work with <br />local law enforcement agencies, public health, the Red Cross, and Salvation Army so <br />services are not duplicated. First Link has also been active in volunteering for community <br />events. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Pawluk seconded to approve the <br />2008 preliminary budget for First Link in the amount of $5,000. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />11.
