Mr. Pawluk serves on the Lake Agassiz Regional Council board and said all dollars spent receive a great amount of consideration. MOTION, passed Mr. Pawluk moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve the 2008 preliminary budget for the Lake Agassiz Regional Council in the amount of $15,000. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. 9. FARGO CASS PUBLIC HEALTH Mary Kay Herrmann, Director of Fargo Cass Public Health, Melissa Perala, and Myron Berglund were present. The budget request for Fargo Cass Public Health increased by 3.9% for cost of living increases compared to 2007. MOTION, passed Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Pawluk seconded to approve the 2008 preliminary budget for Fargo Cass Public Health in the amount of $542,088 and for $279,618 for Cass County Jail Health. Discussion: Mr. Vanyo questioned the source of revenue not budgeted by the City of Fargo, Cass County and state aid. Ms. Herrmann said additional funding is obtained through grants. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 10. FIRST LINK Kristi Crawford, Executive Director of First Link, was present. She discussed their program and said their agency has 350 volunteers trained in disaster management. They work with local law enforcement agencies, public health, the Red Cross, and Salvation Army so services are not duplicated. First Link has also been active in volunteering for community events. MOTION, passed Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Pawluk seconded to approve the 2008 preliminary budget for First Link in the amount of $5,000. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 11. RECESS MOTION, passed On motion by Mr. Vanyo, seconded by Mrs. Sorum, and all in favor, the meeting was recessed at 12:15 PM until Friday, August 10th, beginning at 9:00 AM.
