<br /> Policy Number: Number of Pages: <br /> CASS COUNTY JAIL <br />POLICIES AND PROCEDURES <br />Chapter: <br />COURTHOUSE SECURITY OPERATIONS <br />Subject: Effective Date: <br /> MEDICAL EMERGENCIES <br /> <br />PROCEDURE: <br /> <br />1. If you are contacted in person or by telephone that a medical emergency is <br />occurring in the Cass County Courthouse or Annex, note the location and contact <br />the Sheriff s Office for assistance. If there are Court Transport Officers in the <br />Courthouse not working a courtroom, they may assist. <br /> <br />2. Request an ambulance if needed utilizing 911. <br /> <br />3. Begin first aid or life saving measures only when another officer is present until <br />medical staff arrives. <br /> <br />4. The AED (Automated External Defibrillator) at the Courthouse is located across <br />the hall from the Commission room in a closet marker AED. <br /> <br />5. The AED at the Annex is located at the Security Post mounted on the wall. <br /> <br />6. Notify the Supervisor when the situation is under control. <br /> <br />7.
