<br /> Policy Number: Number of Pages: <br /> CASS COUNTY JAIL <br />POLICIES AND PROCEDURES <br />Chapter: <br />COURTHOUSE SECURITY OPERATIONS <br />Subject: Effective Date: <br /> PROHIBITED ITEMS <br /> <br />SUBJECT: PROHIBITED ITEMS <br /> <br />There are a variety of potentially hazardous and dangerous items that are not <br />permitted inside the Cass County Courthouse or Annex. In general, items that <br />could be used to injure or harm other persons are not permitted. <br /> <br />Visitors to the Cass County Courthouse and the Cass County Annex will not be allowed <br />to bring the following items into the Courthouse for security reasons: <br /> <br />Weapons of any kind <br /> <br />1. KNIVES-small knives may be kept at the security desk, issue a chit to the person <br />ask them to pick up their knife before they leave the building. <br /> <br />2. SPRAYS <br /> <br />Hair sprays, Mist sprays, Mace, Pepper sprays, or any other pressurized container that is <br />flammable <br /> <br />3. WEAPONS <br /> <br />Firearms of any type, Tazers, Ammunition of any type, handcuff keys or any other items <br />that could be used as a weapon. <br /> <br />4. CELLULAR TELEPHONES <br /> <br />5. METAL BEVERAGE CONTAINERS <br /> <br />6. OTHER ITEMS <br /> <br />Screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, wire cutters, kitchen forks, kitchen spoons, laser pointers, <br />tweezers, nails, letter openers or any other object that could be used as a potential <br />weapon. <br /> <br />Any person attempting entry who does not declare the possession of a firearm upon <br />entering the building can be considered to have attempted to bring such firearm into the <br />building in an unauthorized and illegal manner and may be subject to arrest. <br />
