One server hosts several database <br />applications, such as Lasertiche, Web sense (Internet filtering/monitoring), <br />Jail Commissary system and several other databases. The replacement cost <br />for this server $6556.00 and is expected to have a lifespan of <br />approximately 5 years. <br /> <br />The other server that I had planned to replace during the budget cycle last <br />year was the email server. However voicemail systems <br />and email have evolved in the past years where it is now common for <br />agencies to transition to a unified messaging (UM) system. With a unified <br />messaging system, email, voicemail, instant messaging and faxes will all <br />be available in Outlook. <br /> <br />During 2006, I reviewed several voicemail systems. All the vendors we <br />reviewed had the basic unified messaging capabilities; however <br /> <br />-~-_..>" <br />
