<br />Commission Minutes-April 2, 2007 3193 <br /> <br />11. VOUCHERS, Approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Pawluk moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to formally approve <br />Voucher No. 215,676 through Voucher No. 216,057 reviewed by <br />Commissioner Vanyo on March 16, 2007, and paid by the County <br />Auditor's Office; and approve Voucher No. 216,058 through Voucher <br />No. 216,405. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />12. BUILDINGS & GROUNDS UPDATE; WENCK CONTRACT; JOINT MEETING WITH <br />CLAY COUNTY; NOISE COMPLAINT; LEGISLATIVE UPDATE, Committee reports <br />Mrs. Johnson said due to the rain and freeze/thaw cycles last weekend, the Courthouse <br />experienced water leakages through the bell tower into the rotunda area and to ceiling <br />tiles in the State's Attorney Office. The Extension Office, located in the basement of the <br />Annex, also received some water damage. She will determine what repairs may be <br />needed and will keep the board informed about the situation. <br /> <br />She met with Fargo City officials recently to discuss the Wenck & Associates <br />emergency response services agreement and a plan to involve other cities in Cass <br />County. Emergency Manager Dave Rogness and Sheriff Laney will contact cities to <br />offer them the opportunity to pursue a contract with Wenck, in advance of a disaster <br />situation. <br /> <br />Clay County has requested a joint meeting with the board in May. Mrs. Johnson will <br />contact Clay County, who will be hosting this year, to set up the meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Bennett asked about the status of a noise complaint received from a county resident <br />regarding snowmobiles and motorcycles. Sheriff Laney said he assigned a patrolman in <br />the area after receiving the complaint. Also, he and the state's attorney will be <br />researching the issue to determine whether an ordinance or another means of <br />enforcement is necessary to address the problem. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner said the last legislative meeting and conference call was held last Friday. <br />The major unresolved issue is HB 1051 regarding property tax caps, which the county <br />will continue to monitor. <br /> <br />13. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Vanyo to receive and file correspondence <br />outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />letter from Safety-Kleen Corporation regarding Class 1 Modification, <br />updated emergency contact list; <br />letter from State Historical Society informing county that the Ayr State <br />Bank in Ayr, North Dakota, is being considered for nomination to the <br />National Register of Historic Places. <br /> <br />14.
