Commission Minutes-March 5, 2007 3186 Mr. Vanyo does not feel the situation before the board today is similar to the change orders considered by the commission a few months ago and supports paying them. Mr. Wagner said due to the lapse of time between the work performed and submittal of the change orders as well as the amount being over $5,000, he thought the commission ought to be given an opportunity to review them. Mr. Bennett suggested the county coordinator be authorized to sign future change orders in small increments without bringing them to the full board. MOTION, passed Mr. Bennett moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve a change order in the amount of $6,364.00 as presented by Foss Architecture. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 11. VOUCHERS, Approved MOTION, passed Mr. Vanyo moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve Voucher No. 215,377 through Voucher No. 215,675. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. MOTION, passed Mr. Vanyo moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded that due to the cancellation of the March 19, 2007, commission meeting, the board authorizes Commissioner Darrell Vanyo to review the vouchers provided by the County Auditor for immediate payment. Formal action to approve the vouchers will be scheduled on the April 2, 2007, commission agenda. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 12. WENCK CONTRACT; LEGISLATIVE ISSUES; BUILDINGS & GROUNDS UPDATES; ROAD CLOSING; TOWER CITY DRAINAGE ISSUE; MEETING UPDATES, Committee reports Mr. Burdick discussed the Wenck emergency response services agreement, previously approved by the commission, and whether the agreement includes the City of West Fargo. He said it appears the contract is between only Cass County and the City of Fargo. Several county officials and commissioners will be attending a legislative hearing to be held Wednesday, March ih on HB 1051 relating to property tax relief. Mrs. Johnson received a request from a citizen's group to hold Bible readings on the Courthouse plaza on May 2nd and 3rd. A previous request was granted last year. The board did not have any comments or concerns regarding the request. Mrs. Johnson said work will begin tomorrow on the air handler at the Annex. Mr. Berndt received a request from a movie production company to film on a county road. The filming will take place Thursday, March 8th along County Highway 15 and will require two miles of the road to be closed. Sheriff deputies will block traffic at each end of the highway. Mr. Berndt does not feel this will create a problem and the board did not voice any concerns over the request.
