<br />Commission Minutes-March 5, 2007 3186 <br /> <br />Mr. Vanyo does not feel the situation before the board today is similar to the change orders <br />considered by the commission a few months ago and supports paying them. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner said due to the lapse of time between the work performed and submittal of the <br />change orders as well as the amount being over $5,000, he thought the commission ought <br />to be given an opportunity to review them. Mr. Bennett suggested the county coordinator be <br />authorized to sign future change orders in small increments without bringing them to the full <br />board. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Bennett moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve a change order <br />in the amount of $6,364.00 as presented by Foss Architecture. On roll <br />call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />11. VOUCHERS, Approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve Voucher No. <br />215,377 through Voucher No. 215,675. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded that due to the cancellation <br />of the March 19, 2007, commission meeting, the board authorizes <br />Commissioner Darrell Vanyo to review the vouchers provided by the <br />County Auditor for immediate payment. Formal action to approve the <br />vouchers will be scheduled on the April 2, 2007, commission agenda. On <br />roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />12. WENCK CONTRACT; LEGISLATIVE ISSUES; BUILDINGS & GROUNDS UPDATES; <br />ROAD CLOSING; TOWER CITY DRAINAGE ISSUE; MEETING UPDATES, Committee <br />reports <br />Mr. Burdick discussed the Wenck emergency response services agreement, previously <br />approved by the commission, and whether the agreement includes the City of West Fargo. <br />He said it appears the contract is between only Cass County and the City of Fargo. <br /> <br />Several county officials and commissioners will be attending a legislative hearing to be held <br />Wednesday, March ih on HB 1051 relating to property tax relief. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson received a request from a citizen's group to hold Bible readings on the <br />Courthouse plaza on May 2nd and 3rd. A previous request was granted last year. The board <br />did not have any comments or concerns regarding the request. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said work will begin tomorrow on the air handler at the Annex. <br /> <br />Mr. Berndt received a request from a movie production company to film on a county road. <br />The filming will take place Thursday, March 8th along County Highway 15 and will require <br />two miles of the road to be closed. Sheriff deputies will block traffic at each end of the <br />highway. Mr. Berndt does not feel this will create a problem and the board did not voice any <br />concerns over the request. <br />
