<br />3b -- Construct shared use facility as part of a cantilevered structure on the side of the <br />bridge <br /> <br />Alternative 4 - Construct five foot bike lanes on both sides of the interstate bridge and a 10 toot <br />separate pedestrian facility on the north side of the bridge. <br /> <br />Alternative 5 - Develop a stand alone bicycle and pedestrian overpass north of the 1-29 bridge. <br /> <br />Metro COG will prepare graphics showing each alternative and adjacent project area features. <br />Metro COG will provide analysis of the pros and cons of each alternative. Metro COG will <br />develop preliminary costs estimates for the each alternative. The study process will select a <br />preferred alternative. <br /> <br />Public Input <br />Metro COG will work closely with a project steering committee as it prepares the Study. The <br />steering committee will consist of the fbllowing entities: <br /> <br />NDDOT <br />Cass County <br />City of Harwood <br />Houston Engineering <br />Harwood School <br /> <br />After the existing condition has been established and alternatives developed, Metro COG will <br />hold a public open house to gather community input. Community input will be used to evaluate <br />alternatives and will be use to select a preferred alternative. As necessary Metro COG will meet <br />with adjacent stakeholders (business, property owners. schools) as the project unfolds. <br /> <br />Funding <br />As the study unfolds Metro COG will work with local. state, and federal officials to discuss <br />potential funding options for the project. The final Study will include recommendations <br />concerning pursuing funding for implementation of the preferred alternative. <br /> <br />Adoption and Approvals <br />Upon development of a draft Study Metro COG will make a presentation to the Harwood City <br />Council to gather input and feedback.
