<br />the Cass County Highway Department. Connections for Moore Engineering <br />could actually be completed now since an in-ground fiber route already exists <br />between the two buildings. The connection to the West Fargo Public Works <br />building would be completed during the summer of 2007. <br /> <br />Physical connections to the network would be done through equipment <br />located in the Cass County Highway Department; however that will not <br />require any digging or boring of cabling on or around the property of Cass <br />County. <br /> <br />The City of West Fargo and/or Moore Engineering will be responsible <br />for purchasing and repairing any equipment and any services required for <br />connectivity into the State network however Cass County IT Department will <br />maintain administrative control over security ofthe equipment and coordinate <br />installation of equipment in the Highway Department. <br /> <br />There would be no direct equipment or services costs to the County for <br />implementation of the fiber services for Moore Engineering or West Fargo <br />Public Works Department. <br /> <br />The enclosed contract is a proposed agreement between Cass County <br />Government and Moore Engineering granting access to the Cass County/West <br />Fargo GIS system for the purpose of using its information to provide <br />engineering services to the City of West Fargo and the County Water <br />Resource Districts. <br /> <br />The contract has been reviewed by the State's Attorney, City of West <br />Fargo and representatives from Moore Engineering. <br /> <br />SUGGESTED MOTION: <br />Move to authorize the Information Technology Department to <br />coordinate installtion of networking equipment at the Cass County Highway <br />Department. <br /> <br />Move to authorize the chair to sign contract for remote access to <br />County computer systems between Cass County and Moore Engineering. <br /> <br /> <br />S a tz <br />Cass County IT Manager <br />
