<br />Commission Minutes-January 16,2007 3167 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />JANUARY 16,2007 (TUESDAY) <br /> <br />1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER <br />Chairman Scott Wagner called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with members present as <br />follows: Ken Pawluk, Darrell Vanyo, Vern Bennett and Scott Wagner. Robyn Sorum was <br />absent. <br /> <br />2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />Danielle and Kaitlyn Laney, daughters of Sheriff Paul D. Laney, led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br /> <br />3. MINUTES APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Bennett moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded that the minutes of the <br />previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. AGENDA, Order approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Pawluk seconded to approve the order of the <br />agenda with addition of a purchase order for the Highway Department. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />5. CONSENT AGENDA APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Bennett seconded to approve the consent <br />agenda as follows: On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />a. Approve omitted assessment according to notice sent to property owner <br />by the county auditor. <br />b. Approve amended Articles of Association for the Metropolitan Council of <br />Governments to allow the chairman of the policy board to declare a <br />quorum to be six members for the purpose of paying bills. <br />c. Receive and file Indemnity Bond for Lost Instruments to James <br />Papacek and Luis Perez and authorize the county auditor and county <br />treasurer to issue duplicate checks. <br />d. Receive monthly financial statement from the Auditor's Office for the <br />month ended December 31,2006. <br />e. Approve raffle permit for Kindred Dollars for Scholars to be held March <br />3,2007, at the Wild Rice Bar & Grill in Wild Rice, North Dakota. <br />f. Authorize the chairman to sign a purchase order for one medium duty <br />sander from Northern Truck Equipment in the amount of $6,332. <br /> <br />6. SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT CONTRACTS, Approved for North Dakota Youth <br />Correctional Center and Correctional Computers of Wisconsin <br />Sheriff Paul Laney and Chief Deputy Glenn Ellingsberg were present to discuss two <br />contracts. <br /> <br />The first contract is with the North Dakota Youth Correctional Center to house juveniles in <br />case of an emergency or if the population exceeds capacity for an extended period of <br />
