<br />Commission Minutes-December 18, 2006 3156 <br /> <br />approve abatement #4296 submitted by Todd and Kim Veen for a value of <br />$227,000 as recommended by the Reed Township Board and the Director <br />of Equalization. <br />e. Receive monthly financial statement from the Auditor's Office for the month <br />ended November 30,2006. <br />f. Authorize the Sheriffs Department to purchase one 2007 Yamaha <br />snowmobile for a cost of $7,431.00. <br />g. Approve raffle and bingo permit for 4-Corners Wildlife Club to be held <br />February 3,2007, at the Embden Senior Center in Embden, North Dakota. <br />h. Contract approval: <br />4-H Outdoor Skills lease-lease of flood property in Addison Township; <br />Cities of Casselton, Mapleton, Horace and Kindred-renewal of police service <br />agreements; <br />North Dakota Department of Human Services-reimbursement contract to <br />provide funding for interpreters; <br />Metropolitan Interpreter Resource Center-reimbursement contract to provide <br />funding for interpreters; <br />Fargo Cass Public Health-home health aide services for low income <br />individuals; <br />Tami's Angels, Merit Care and Community Living Services-homemaker <br />services for low income individuals; <br />Rainbow Bridge-contract for supervised visitation of foster children; <br />Roni Cohen-Sandler speaking agreement-provide day-long workshop for <br />program on adolescent stress sponsored by Extension Service; <br />Steven Mottinger, Douglas Nesheim, Joanne Ottmar-public defenders. <br /> <br />6. VETERANS SERVICE, Letter of appreciation presented to Chanelle Lende <br />Jim Brent, Veterans Service Officer, introduced Bob Stewart, Chief of Healthcare for the <br />Homeless at the Fargo Veterans Administration Hospital. Mr. Stewart commended the staff <br />of the Cass County Veterans Service Office for their work. He presented a letter of <br />appreciation from the Department of Veterans Affairs to county employee Chanelle Lende <br />for her efforts with an event held this past September for area veterans. Ms. Lende thanked <br />Mr. Stewart for the award. <br /> <br />7. DEPARTMENT HEADS, Recognition of service plaques presented to Deanna Kensrud <br />and Don Rudnick <br />The board commended Deanna Kensrud, County Recorder, for 47 years of service. She <br />has served 32 years as the county recorder. Mr. Wagner presented a plaque to Mrs. <br />Kensrud in honor of her retirement from county government and she thanked the board for <br />the recognition. <br /> <br />The board also commended Don Rudnick for 37 years of service with the Cass County <br />Sheriff's Department. Mr. Rudnick is the longest serving sheriff in Cass County, having <br />served seven terms for a total of 28 years. Mr. Wagner presented a plaque to Mr. Rudnick <br />in honor of his retirement from county government and Mr. Rudnick also thanked the board <br />for their kind words. <br />
