<br />Commission Minutes-September 18, 2006 3131 <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Cass County Government does herby <br />endorse the findings of the Regional Workforce Housing Profile and the findings of its <br />public involvement process, and agrees to use the findings as a tool to implement its own <br />housing goals and objectives, and will work proactively with a host of regional partners to <br />implement the Strategic Initiatives outlined in the Profile. <br /> <br />Approved and adopted on this 18th day of September, 2006. <br /> <br />8. BUDGET, Public hearing on 2007 preliminary budget <br />A public hearing was advertised for this date, time and place to allow for public input on <br />the 2007 Cass County preliminary budget. Notice of today's hearing, containing the <br />budget funds and levy summary for the coming year, was published in the official <br />newspaper of the county on August 28, 2006. The budget was also published on Cass <br />County's website. County Auditor Michael Montplaisir said no action is needed today and <br />the final adoption of the county budget will be scheduled for October 2, 2006. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner opened the public hearing for comments and hearing none, closed the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />9. VOUCHERS, Approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve Voucher No. <br />210,586 through Voucher No. 210,995. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />10. COURTHOUSE AWARD; COUNTY HEALTH & WELLNESS FAIR; YOUTH <br />COMMISSION; CASS 20/CLAY 22 BRIDGE RIBBON CUTTING; LEGISLATIVE <br />LUNCHEON; JOINT DISPATCH; MEETING UPDATES, Committee reports <br />Mrs. Johnson attended the North Dakota chapter of the American Institute of Architects <br />banquet last week. Architect Richard Moorhead, who designed the two courthouse <br />additions twenty-five years ago, was presented with the "Test of Time" Award. He gave <br />his award to the county and Mrs. Johnson said it is hanging on the wall outside the <br />commission chambers. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said 125 employees attended the Health and Wellness Fair last week. She <br />said based on this year's success, another one will most likely be held next year. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said the Cass County Youth Commission will hold their first meeting on <br />Wednesday and she will give a presentation in the afternoon for those commissioners <br />who may wish to attend. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said a ribbon cutting is scheduled for Friday, September 29, 2006, at 4:00 <br />PM to dedicate the re-opening of the Red River Bridge between Cass County Highway <br />20 and Clay County Highway 22. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said in the past, a meeting was held with area legislators after the <br />November election to discuss issues relating to the upcoming legislative session. Last <br />year, an event was scheduled with legislators and social service staff. She asked the <br />board if they preferred to hold two separate meetings or to schedule a luncheon meeting <br />with all county offices, as was done in previous years. <br />
