Mr. Ideele said he corroborates with the Cultural <br />Diversity Forum, but feels they serve a different need in the community. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner said this request may be better suited under sponsorship grants through the <br />Social Services budget. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to consider the $3,000 <br />appropriation for the People's Diversity Forum in the Social <br />Services sponsorship fund rather than in the commission budget. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />9. EXTENSION SERVICES <br />Brad Cogdill, Extension Service Agent, was present. Mr. Cogdill said his budget for 2007 <br />remains relatively unchanged with increases for salaries and benefits for county <br />extension staff. He said the Parenting Resource Center will receive two grants-one <br />through the Department of Human Services in the amount of $11,930 and the other from <br />United Way's "Countdown to Kindergarten" in the amount of $55,272. <br /> <br />Mr. Pawluk said the budget of $431,428 appears to have increased by 8.3% compared to <br />last year's request of $367,714. Mr. Cogdill said if the offsetting revenues from the grant <br />funding are taken into consideration, this year's request is probably about $3,000 less <br />than 2006. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve the 2007 <br />preliminary budget for Extension Services in the amount of <br />$431,428. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />10. FARGO SENIOR COMMISSION, CASS COUNTY COUNCIL ON AGING <br />Brian Arett, Executive Director of the Fargo Senior Commission, was present. He said <br />their request is for one mill with matching funds to be received from the state. According <br />to Mr. Arett, there will be a decrease in federal funding but an increase in transportation <br />dollars. He said $35,000 will be added to the personnel line item in order to retain three <br />full-time employees; the plan was to reduce the positions to part-time, but after a board of <br />directors meeting last week, a decision was made to keep them at full-time. John Meyer, <br />who serves on the board, said he will work with Mr. Arett to find the dollars for the <br />positions. Mr. Arett said the increase does not affect the request made to the county. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve the 2007 <br />preliminary budget for the Fargo Senior Commission in the <br />amount of $525,000. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Marge Fee, President of the Cass County Council on Aging, was present and briefly <br />discussed their request for 2007. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to approve the 2007 <br />preliminary budget for Cass County Council on Aging in the <br />amount of $88,182. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />
