<br />COURT OFFICER <br /> <br />This is a regular deputy position and is responsible for the <br />coordination of activities relating to inmate and other court <br />appearances requiring the presence of a deputy. Is responsible <br />to the Court Transport Shift Supervisor. <br /> <br />A. DUTIES <br /> <br />1. Coordinate court acti vi ties and outside <br />schedules with supervisors on a daily basis. <br /> <br />appointment <br /> <br />2. Check and update inmate files ensuring accuracy and making <br />changes as necessary. <br /> <br />3. Account for all bail money posted at the jail and delivering <br />same to the proper court or office. <br /> <br />4. Escort inmates to court proceedings or other appointments on <br />a timely basis. <br /> <br />5. Escorts inmates in a manner which will ensure the utmost <br />safety and security for the inmate and the public. <br /> <br />6. Supervise courtroom proceedings and maintain order by <br />observing all persons in the courtroom, quelling any <br />disturbances, enforcing all court orders. <br /> <br />7. Report and document all incidents which occur during <br />transport of inmates outside of the facility. <br /> <br />8. Serve criminal warrants, civil actions and other law <br />enforcement duties which may pertain to court activities. <br /> <br />9. Provide Security for the Courthouse and Screening of <br />individuals entering the Courthouse or County Annex. <br /> <br />10.Provide training and supervision for correctional officers <br />regarding court procedures, security, and other courses as <br />directed by the Correctional Service's Group Commander. <br /> <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <br /> <br />Must meet and pass all state and department requirements for a <br />Correctional Officer III. Must meet the same minimum <br />requirements as that of a patrol deputy and must have a general <br />knowledge of police work. <br /> <br />Page 32 <br />
