Commission Minutes-August 21, 2006 3119

Mr. Bennett said according to the contract, the county and city will each receive 20% of the
amounts collected and the state will receive 60% of the fees collected.

Mr. Kirkeby said that by eliminating the municipal judgeship, the city is circumventing the
election results. He won the race as a write-in candidate. Mr. Montplaisir said Mr. Kirkeby
received three votes and another person received two votes.

Mrs. Sorum left the meeting at 4:55 PM.

MOTION, passed
Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to authorize the chairman to
sign the contract between the City of Mapleton and the East Central
Judicial District Court for the transfer of the city's municipal cases to the
state district court. On roll call vote, the motion carried
with Mr. Vanyo, Mr. Wagner and Mr. Bennett voting "Yes"; Mr. Pawluk
voting "No"; and Mrs. Sorum being absent.

9. He said the software is designed to manage hardware from
purchase to disposal as well as assist with help desk management and server monitoring.
The support options available at the time of purchase included: initial configuration and
installation for $18,000; twelve training classes at $2,000 per class; individual case support
at $210 per incident; or a health check to evaluate the system for a cost of $5,567. He is
requesting the board approve a purchase order and contract with Altiris Inc. for a health
check. He said a problem exists at the county level that has nothing to do with the software.

Mr. Vanyo said vendors have an obligation to be aware of a situation before an install is
completed to ensure the product is working properly. Mr. Schmaltz said he was aware of
the different options outlined above and made a decision to have the county install the
software.
MOTION, passed
Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to authorize the chairman to
sign a purchase order with Altiris Inc. in the amount of $5,567 and
authorize the chairman to sign a contract with Altiris Inc. to conduct a
performance review of their software package.
