<br />Commission Minutes-August 7,2006 3088 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AUGUST 7, 2006 <br /> <br />1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER <br />Chairman Vern Bennett called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with all members present as <br />follows: Scott Wagner, Vern Bennett, Ken Pawluk, and Darrell Vanyo. Robyn Sorum <br />participated in the meeting via telephone. <br /> <br />2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />Mr. Bennett welcomed County Engineer Keith Berndt back from military leave In <br />Afghanistan and asked Mr. Berndt to lead the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />3. MINUTES APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Wagner seconded that the minutes of the <br />previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. AGENDA, Order approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve the order of the <br />agenda with the following changes: addition of contracts with North <br />Dakota Department of Transportation and Youthworks; and to move the <br />contract with G & R Controls to the regular agenda for discussion. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />5. CONSENT AGENDA APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve the consent <br />agenda as follows: On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />a. Authorize the closing of County Road 17 for the Horace community <br />celebration to be held August 19, 2006, from 7:00 AM until 1 :00 AM on <br />August 20,2006. <br />b. Authorize the chairman to sign an assignment of a drain pipeline <br />easement for Lot 1 Block 1 Holmen's Second Subdivision. <br />c. Contract approval: <br />North Dakota Department of Transportation-amendment to <br />previous contract for overtime expenses for a total amount of <br />$8,250 for increased alcohol enforcement through a Traffic <br />Safety Grant (the grant is paid through 100% federal funding <br />and requires no local match); <br />Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention Act-2007 grant <br />application for $20,000 in federal funding on behalf of <br />Youthworks for their work with Juvenile Court. <br />
