Commission Minutes-August 7,2006 3088 REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS AUGUST 7, 2006 1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER Chairman Vern Bennett called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with all members present as follows: Scott Wagner, Vern Bennett, Ken Pawluk, and Darrell Vanyo. Robyn Sorum participated in the meeting via telephone. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Mr. Bennett welcomed County Engineer Keith Berndt back from military leave In Afghanistan and asked Mr. Berndt to lead the Pledge of Allegiance. 3. MINUTES APPROVED MOTION, passed Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Wagner seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. 4. AGENDA, Order approved MOTION, passed Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve the order of the agenda with the following changes: addition of contracts with North Dakota Department of Transportation and Youthworks; and to move the contract with G & R Controls to the regular agenda for discussion. Motion carried. 5. CONSENT AGENDA APPROVED MOTION, passed Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve the consent agenda as follows: On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. a. Authorize the closing of County Road 17 for the Horace community celebration to be held August 19, 2006, from 7:00 AM until 1 :00 AM on August 20,2006. b. Authorize the chairman to sign an assignment of a drain pipeline easement for Lot 1 Block 1 Holmen's Second Subdivision. c. Contract approval: North Dakota Department of Transportation-amendment to previous contract for overtime expenses for a total amount of $8,250 for increased alcohol enforcement through a Traffic Safety Grant (the grant is paid through 100% federal funding and requires no local match); Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention Act-2007 grant application for $20,000 in federal funding on behalf of Youthworks for their work with Juvenile Court.
