Commission Minutes-June 19, 2006 3082 MOTION, passed Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to approve change orders #5, #6 and #7 as presented. Discussion: Mr. Hoganson discussed the ventilation shut down switch and stressed that the best way to get rid of odors is to keep the system running. Mrs. Johnson said the switch would only be used in extreme emergencies and jail staff will be made aware of this. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 8. VOUCHERS, Approved MOTION, passed Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to approve Voucher No. 207,947 through Voucher No. 208,430. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 9. SALARY STUDY REVIEW; MOORHEAD POLICE CHIEF RETIREMENT; COURT HEARING; REDEDICATION OF COURTHOUSE; MEETING UPDATES, Committee reports Mrs. Johnson said the salary study has been completed by Fox Lawson & Associates and a Personnel Overview Committee meeting will be scheduled for Monday, July 17, 2006, at 11 :00 AM to review the findings. She will forward a copy of the consultant's report to committee members when it is received. Mrs. Johnson will attend a retirement party Wednesday evening for outgoing Moorhead Police Chief Grant Weyland. Mrs. Johnson will attend a State Supreme Court hearing in Bismarck tomorrow morning on Strand vs. Cass County. Mrs. Johnson said a rededication ceremony for the Cass County Courthouse will be held on Monday, July 17, 2006, at 3:00 PM on the front plaza. Commissioners and staff reported on meetings they have attended in the past two weeks, as well as upcoming meetings. 10. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to receive and file correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. Letter from Clay Whittlesey, Fargo Park District, thanking commissioners for allowing the park district to host the archery tournament last month on county-owned property in Forest River Subdivision; North Dakota Department of Transportation letters requesting comments on any environmental concerns with bridge rehabilitation projects along the 1-29 corridor (copies of letters referred to Rich Sieg, Highway Department Superintendent). 11. ADJOURNMENT MOTION, passed On motion by Mr. Wagner, seconded by Mr. Pawluk, and all in favor, the meeting was adjourned at 4:35 PM.
