<br />Commission Minutes-June 19, 2006 3082 <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to approve change orders <br />#5, #6 and #7 as presented. Discussion: Mr. Hoganson discussed the <br />ventilation shut down switch and stressed that the best way to get rid <br />of odors is to keep the system running. Mrs. Johnson said the switch <br />would only be used in extreme emergencies and jail staff will be made <br />aware of this. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />8. VOUCHERS, Approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to approve Voucher No. <br />207,947 through Voucher No. 208,430. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />9. SALARY STUDY REVIEW; MOORHEAD POLICE CHIEF RETIREMENT; COURT <br />HEARING; REDEDICATION OF COURTHOUSE; MEETING UPDATES, Committee <br />reports <br />Mrs. Johnson said the salary study has been completed by Fox Lawson & Associates and <br />a Personnel Overview Committee meeting will be scheduled for Monday, July 17, 2006, at <br />11 :00 AM to review the findings. She will forward a copy of the consultant's report to <br />committee members when it is received. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson will attend a retirement party Wednesday evening for outgoing Moorhead <br />Police Chief Grant Weyland. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson will attend a State Supreme Court hearing in Bismarck tomorrow morning on <br />Strand vs. Cass County. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said a rededication ceremony for the Cass County Courthouse will be held <br />on Monday, July 17, 2006, at 3:00 PM on the front plaza. <br /> <br />Commissioners and staff reported on meetings they have attended in the past two weeks, <br />as well as upcoming meetings. <br /> <br />10. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />Letter from Clay Whittlesey, Fargo Park District, thanking commissioners for allowing <br />the park district to host the archery tournament last month on county-owned property <br />in Forest River Subdivision; <br />North Dakota Department of Transportation letters requesting comments on any <br />environmental concerns with bridge rehabilitation projects along the 1-29 corridor <br />(copies of letters referred to Rich Sieg, Highway Department Superintendent). <br /> <br />11.
