"Check and see" if the animal is in the pound; <br />2. Releasing animals from the pound; <br />}, Answering any questions concerning pound procedures; <br />4, Admitting people' into the pound, <br /> <br />4. Contact Person <br /> <br />A -The Fargo Police Departmek's Co=unity Service Officer (CSO) <br />Supervisor will serve as a liaison between AnimA] pound staff and the Fargo City <br />Police Department <br /> <br />5. HoJrlin17 Period for Animals <br /> <br />Impounded animals will be held for three (3) business days, not counting <br />the day that they are impounded. Holidays and weekends are not counted :in the <br />three-day.period. <br />. Dogs will be held one additional day to allow for placement or adoption <br />by the Humane Society or by Adopt-A-Pet, on the condition that the Human <br />Sociery and/or Adopt-A-Pet have made appropriate ammgem.ents for claiming the <br />dogs and on the condition that the pound bas sufficient pound space available to <br />house such dogs until they are claimed by the Human Society or by Adopt-A-Pet. <br /> <br />6, Housing and Acceptance of Animals <br /> <br />A. General housing care standards. Valley will provide housing and <br />care for animal. according to applicable regulations issued by the U.S. <br />Department of Agriculture, 9 CPR 3, Anima] and Plant Health InSpection Service, <br />Specifications for the Human Handling, Care, Treatment and Transportation of <br />Dogs and Cats. Valley shall be,responsible for determining applicable standards, <br />bur at a minimum, shall meet ,the- Standards more specifically set forth in 9 CFR 3, <br />99 3.2(a); 3.2(b); H(a); 3.6(b)(l)(ii); 3.6(c)(l)(i); 3.8(a); 3.9(a) 3.9(b); and 3.] 0, <br />Valley will have discretion to vary the housing care for animals, for a short term, <br />if the City increases the length of stay for animar from three to five days or if <br />there is an unusual number oflarge breed dogs. <br /> <br />B. Housing standards-canine:. Valley will provide a kennel area of <br />twenty-five (25) cages, five (5) large. indoor runs, and three (3) large ourdoor <br />exercise runs.
