Those subcommittees are:

r. Community Crisis Response
II. Health Screening and Assessment
III. Data Collection & Information Sharing
IV, Alternative Sentencing & Pre-Trial Issues
V, Open Shelter

In addition, many of our members are also on the Fargo Task Force looking
at a "I 0 Year Plan for Ending Homelessness in Fargo".

Our Alternative Sentencing & Pre-Trial Issues subcommittee has been a
major focus of our group and is supported by the work of the other
subcommittees.

A pilot project has been developed for Cass County and we are currently
looking at costs and funding availabilities for implementation. Funds may
be available through the Federal Act entitled "Mentally III Offender
Treatment and Crime Reduction Act of2004". Funding has recently been
appropriated and we are waiting for the application process to open. Our
committee will also present testimony before the North Dakota Commission
on Alternatives to Incarceration in Fargo on March 21st, 1:00 p.m., at the
Radisson. It is our hope that the North Dakota Legislature will address
funding opportunities during the upcoming session for projects that could
include Cass County.
