On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />8. VECTOR CONTROL UPDATE <br />Angela Balint, Vector Control Director, was present to update the board on vector <br />control efforts. She said the department has 38 full-time staff for the season and has <br />begun treating storm drains and catch basins with larvacide as well as inspecting <br />areas of standing water for mosquito larvae. Matthew Eaton, vector control <br />employee, displayed two different traps to the commission. Ms. Balint explained how <br />weekly averages are obtained from the New Jersey light traps. The weekly averages <br />have been low, but the vector control board set a threshold of 100 mosquitoes before <br />ground spraying is done in the metropolitan cities. <br /> <br />Ms. Balint said The Forum has begun the "skeeter meter" to help inform the public on <br />mosquito counts and vector control staff will be making public appearances this <br />month at local lawn and garden centers to also educate the public. <br /> <br />9. VOUCHERS, Approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Pawluk seconded to approve Voucher No. <br />207,492 through Voucher No. 207,946. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />
