Commission Minutes--September 19, 2003 2659 <br /> <br />Buildings and Grounds-Jail Maintenance <br />Mrs. Johnson suggested reducing the general maintenance line item in the new jail <br />because of renegotiated one-year equipment warranties. Sheriff Rudnick concurred, with <br />his only concern being the dishwasher; and Mrs. Johnson said she will put together a <br />maintenance schedule for that unit. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to remove $10,000 from the <br /> jail general maintenance line item. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Bennett suggested eliminating security in county buildings. Mr. Montplaisir said the <br />board removed the contracted security officer at the jail already today. Jim Thoreson, <br />Sheriff's Department, said Cass County would be taking a giant step backward if security <br />is eliminated at the courthouse and annex buildings. No action was taken. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Bennett seconded to forward the budget as <br />revised today to the September 29th commission meeting for final <br />approval. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE EXPENSE, Appreciation to Casselton Volunteer Ambulance <br />Mr. Wagner asked for board approval to send a check for $100 to the Casselton Volunteer <br />Ambulance Service for serving cookies, coffee and lemonade after the board's meeting <br />last Monday evening with Cass County's city officials. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve sending $100 <br /> and a letter of appreciation to the Casselton Volunteer Ambulance <br /> Service for coffee, cookies and lemonade served after a county meeting <br /> with area city officials on September 15, 2003.
