<br />Commission Minutes--December 20, 1999 2076 <br /> <br />21. JAIL SALES TAX COLLECTION; ELECTIONS; JAIL UPDATE; WORKER'S COMPENSATION <br />AUDIT; MEETING UPDATES; COURT SOFTWARE INTEGRATION, Committee reports <br />Mr. Montplaisir reported that Cass County received $266,681 as the first payment from the jail <br />sales tax collection for the month of October. <br /> <br />For the elections next year, Mr. Montplaisir reported that he is working with respective <br />representatives concerning combining some precincts in the rural areas and dividing two large <br />precincts in the City of Fargo, for a net change of five precincts. The county would then have <br />56 instead of 61 precincts. <br /> <br />Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator, reported on a trip to Bismarck last week with Rick <br />Hoganson, Foss Associates, to update the State Director of Corrections and staff members on <br />the progress of the Cass County jail project. The presentation was much the same as what the <br />County Commission saw at the last regular meeting. <br /> <br />Completion of the State Worker's Compensation audit, to be conducted tomorrow in Mrs. <br />Johnson's Office, will again result in premium savings of approximately $70,000 for Cass <br />County. <br /> <br />Commissioners reported on meetings they have attended in the past two weeks, as well as <br />upcoming meetings. Mr. Wieland said the North Dakota Department of Human Services has <br />been asked to sponsor a state-wide meeting similar to one held in Fargo this month concerning <br />child support enforcement issues. <br /> <br />Mrs. Quick asked Bonnie Johnson if she will be attending a District Court meeting at 1 :30 PM <br />on January 6, 2000, in the County Commission Room concerning integration of court software. <br />Mrs. Johnson said she will be in attendance, and commissioners are welcome to attend also. <br /> <br />22. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: letter from <br />Gerry and Pam Hall regarding property value and flood plain issues <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />23.
