Commission Minutes--September 7, 1999 2032 DEPARTMENT HEADS--PLEASE POST IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE FOR STAFF TO READ REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS SEPTEMBER 7, 1999 1. MEETING TO ORDER Chairperson Robbie Quick called the meeting to order at 3:40 PM with all members present as follows: Paul Koenig, John Meyer, Alon Wieland, Donna Schneider and Robbie Quick. 2. MINUTES APPROVED MOTION, passed Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Koenig seconded that minutes of the last regular meeting held August 16, 1999, and minutes of the special meetings held August 16, 24 and 27,1999, be approved as written. Motion carried. 3. AGENDA, Order aDproved MOTION, passed Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to approve the order of the agenda with the following changes: 1) omitting contract approval for County Highways 10 and 14 slide repair; 2) sale of Sheriff's Department vehicles; and 3) purchase of additional land for the jail site. Motion carried. 4. RESOLUTION #1999-14, Clerk of Court funding MOTION, passed Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to adopt the following Resolution #1999-14 regarding Clerk of Court funding. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. RESOLUTION #1999-14 WHEREAS, the 1999 Legislature enacted HB 1275 which restructures the Office of the Clerk of Court; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Cass County has determined it is appropriate to initiate the option to transfer responsibility for funding of the Clerk of District Court of Cass County to the State of North Dakota; and WHEREAS, The County of Cass has a population of greater than 100,000 persons; and WHEREAS, the Offices of Register of Deeds and Clerk of District Court continue to operate as separate offices in order to permit the initiation of the option to transfer responsibility for funding for the Clerk of District Court of Cass County to the State of North Dakota. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA,
