Commission Minutes--August 27, 1999 2031 <br /> <br />Mrs. Quick said a county commissioner is on call 24 hours a day and to do a good job, she has <br />to be responsive to the public and their requests. She is less concerned with attracting people <br />to run, than keeping people in the position to do a good job. She also agrees with Mr. <br />Wieland's suggested salary figures. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to approve the County <br /> Commission preliminary budget at $70,200 which includes an <br /> annual salary of $13,800 per year in addition to $1,200 per year for <br /> the chairman. On roll call vote, motion carried with four members <br /> voting "Aye" and Ms. Schneider voting "No". <br /> <br />Mr. Montplaisir said his office will prepare a preliminary budget and an advertisement for The <br />Forum. He said the preliminary budget is scheduled on the September 7th agenda for <br />commission approval. Mr. Wieland suggested commissioners visit with their portfolio <br />departments to look for further cuts.
