<br />Commission Minutes--June 21, 1999 1993 <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT HEADS--PLEASE POST IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE FOR STAFF TO READ <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />JUNE 21, 1999 <br /> <br />1. MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chairperson Robbie Quick called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with all members present as <br />follows: Paul Koenig, John Meyer, Alon Wieland, Donna Schneider and Robbie Quick. <br /> <br />2. MINUTES APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Koenig moved and Mr. Meyer seconded that the minutes of the <br />previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />3. AGENDA, Order aDproved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve the order of <br />the agenda with the following addition: commendation letter to Fargo <br />Police Officers Dan Hudson and Greg Esposito. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. FARGO POLICE OFFICERS, Commendation for outstanding Dolice work near Courthouse <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to commend Fargo <br />Police Officers Dan Hudson and Greg Esposito for diffusing a <br />dangerous situation outside the Cass County Courthouse in the early <br />morning hours of June 14, 1999. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. A letter of commendation was read by the Commission <br />Chairperson, Robbie Quick, and outstanding service awards were <br />presented to Officer Hudson and to Officer Esposito. Commissioner <br />Meyer also expressed appreciation for their exceptional police work. <br />Officers Hudson and Esposito arrested a 23-year old man sitting in <br />his car outside the Courthouse who was armed with an assault rifle, <br />a large amount of ammunition, and materials to make pipe bombs. He <br />was waiting for the Courthouse to open and reportedly wanted a <br />judge to return a large knife taken from him in a separate incident. <br /> <br />5. INFORMATION SERVICES, Acting pay for two emDloyees <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to approve acting <br />pay for Roxane Friese while she is temporarily assigned the position <br />of interim director of the Information Services Department, and to <br />approve acting pay for Tim Ringuette in the position of network <br />specialist; both assignments being effective July 1, 1999, and <br />continuing until permanent replacements are hired. According to <br />county policy, the employees will be paid at the entry level or <br />minimum level of the higher classification, or 5% above the current <br />salary, whichever is greater. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />
