<br />Commission Minutes--June 7, 1999 1985 <br /> <br />8. EXTENSION SERVICES, Parenting Resource Center grant renewal and budget revision <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Koenig seconded that the Parenting <br />Resource Center Program for May, 1999 through June, 2000 be <br />implemented according to the grant guidelines with the Department <br />of Human Services in the amount of $52,880 and the Region V <br />Children's Services Coordinating Committee in the amount of$1 0,650, <br />according to information from Brad Cogdill, Extension Agent/Chair <br />dated May 21, 1999; and that the Extension Service work with the <br />County Auditor's Office to amend the budget for the program. On roll <br />call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />9. CONTRACT APPROVAL, Prairie Restoration. Inc.: Government GIS Grant: Orrin A. Holen <br />Construction: North Dakota Department of Transportation: North Dakota Game & Fish <br />Department: State of North Dakota Court Administrator <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to approve the following <br />contracts submitted by the respective department head and portfolio <br />commissioner, subject to state's attorney approval; and authorize the <br />chairperson to sign: On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Prairie Restoration, Inc.--Iandscaping work for Heritage Hills; <br />Government GIS Grant--ESRI (Environmental Systems Research Institute) <br />software licensing; <br />Orrin A. Holen Construction-accept low bid in the amount of $262,200.18 for <br />intersection improvements on county road six miles west of Gardner and authorize <br />chairperson to sign contract documents when available; <br />North Dakota Department of Transportation FY 1999 traffic safety grant; <br />North Dakota Game & Fish Department boat safety agreement; <br />State of North Dakota court services agreement to address criminal matters <br />relating to Cass County ordinances. <br /> <br />10. RESOLUTION #1999-10, Condolences to Judy Tangen. Ransom County Commissioner <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to adopt Resolution <br />#1999-10 expressing condolences to Judy Tangen, Ransom County <br />Commissioner, whose husband passed away recently. On roll call <br />vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />11. TAX EQUALIZATION BOARD, Convened for 1999 <br />The 1999 Cass County Board of Tax Equalization convened at this time. Frank Klein, Director <br />of Equalization, provided a letter dated May 28, 1999, containing his recommendations. He <br />estimated that the net taxable valuation in Cass County will increase 6.5% over last year, to <br />$225 million. <br /> <br />Mr. Klein is recommending increases in several cities and townships after reviewing sales and <br />spot-checking values. Each city and township has been notified of his recommendation. New <br />legislation this year lowered agricultural land value about 2.5% by using a production cost factor <br />
