<br />Commission Minutes--May 3, 1999 1975 <br /> <br />A request was submitted by Mr. Rustad to amend the "Contract for Professional Services" dated <br />June 1, 1997, for the purpose of modifying the compensation schedule in the contractfor flood <br />administration. The original contract was $69,000, however, the total number of Phase I and <br />Phase II homes to be purchased is 51, and based upon administrative costs of $1,750 per <br />property, the total administrative cost is $89,250. This leaves a balance due of $20,250 to the <br />Lake Agassiz Regional Development Corporation, to be paid from FEMA and/or HUD funds. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to authorize the <br />chairperson to sign an addendum to the "Contract for Professional <br />Services" between Cass County Government and the Lake Agassiz <br />Regional Development Corporation executed by the parties in <br />October, 1997. The purpose of the addendum is to modify the <br />compensation schedule originally set forth in the contract. On roll <br />call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />13. VOUCHERS, Approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to approve Voucher No. <br />127,396 through No. 128,134. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />14. MEETING UPDATES; BRIDGE NEAR MAPLETON; FIRE SPRINKLERS IN ANNEX <br />RECALLED; CASS-FARGO COMMISSIONERS JOINT MEETING; CLERK OF COURT BILL; <br />JAIL DESIGN TEAM; FLOOD MASTER PLAN MEETING, Committee reports <br />Meetings attended in the past two weeks, as well as upcoming meetings, were reported on by <br />Commissioners and the State's Attorney, Birch Burdick. A representative on national drug <br />control policy spoke in the Cass County Commission Room last week, and Mr. Burdick will <br />update commissioners in June concerning a pilot project for a juvenile drug court in this county. <br /> <br />Mr. Koenig reported on a meeting held in Mapleton, ND with County Engineer, Keith Berndt, <br />concerning the Board's discussion of April 5th on removal of a bridge near Mapleton that has <br />been closed since the 1997 flood. A decision on the future of the bridge has been delayed, <br />and Mr. Koenig said the State's Attorney is reviewing the County's options. <br /> <br />Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator, said she will apply for money from a trust fund for the <br />purpose of replacing building sprinklers in the Detention Center which have been recalled. She <br />has notified department heads in the Annex building about the situation with the sprinklers. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson asked for a suggested meeting date with Fargo City Commissioners as it is Cass <br />County's turn to host a joint meeting. The date of June 21, 1999, was selected and Mrs. <br />Johnson will make the necessary arrangements. She requested agenda items from the Board. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland has been appointed to a state-wide committee to help implement House Bill 1275 <br />concerning state funding for clerks of court. The county is aware of a possible referral on this <br />bill passed by the 1999 State Legislature. <br />
