<br />Commission Minutes--April 5, 1999 1963 <br /> <br />legal aspects, and it is the Board's recommendation that funds being held by the State be <br />released to the regional council. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to authorize the chair to <br />sign a letter on behalf of the Cass County Board of Commissioners, <br />supported by documentation by the State's Attorney, Birch Burdick, <br />requesting the release of funds to the regional council for satisfying <br />the necessary requirements. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />17. VOUCHERS, Approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to approve Voucher No. <br />126,133 through No. 126,793. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />18. JAIL INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS AND ABSENTEE BALLOTS; MEETING UPDATES; <br />NORTH DAKOTA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION, Committee reoorts <br />Commissioners have been attending informational meetings throughout the county with Sheriff <br />Don Rudnick concerning a new jail facility and the upcoming vote on utilizing sales tax to pay <br />for it. The Auditor's Office has the absentee ballots available for voting, beginning tomorrow. <br />Other meeting reports were also given. <br /> <br />Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator, was contacted by Bud Myers, Richland County State's <br />Attorney, concerning a meeting in the Cass County Commission Room from 8:30 - 10:00 AM <br />on April 27th with a national representative from the Office of the President concerning drug <br />enforcement. Many public officials, including the Commissioners, are invited. <br /> <br />Commissioners were in agreement to grant a request from Wayne McKelvey, Project <br />Coordinator of the North Dakota Public Employees Association, to hold informational meetings <br />with county employees on April 15, 1999, at the Highway Department in the morning and at the <br />Cass County Annex over the lunch hour. <br /> <br />19. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />letter from Ted Gladden, Assistant State Court Administrator, concerning judicial <br />proceedings by interactive video; <br /> <br />letter from Cass County Soil Conservation District inviting Cass County Weed <br />Board and County Park Board Chairman to attend their April 20th board meeting <br />to discuss weed control for the Brewer Lake arboretum near Erie; <br /> <br />information from North Dakota Department of Transportation regarding bid <br />opening in Bismarck on April 23, 199, for Maple River structure northwest of <br />
