<br />Commission Minutes--March 15, 1999 1957 <br /> <br />Commissioners reported on meetings they attended in the past two weeks, as well as upcoming <br />meetings. <br /> <br />Birch Burdick, State's Attorney, reported he is filling two support staff vacancies in his office. <br /> <br />Mrs. Quick reported on the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber of Commerce meeting last Tuesdaywhen <br />she and Sheriff Rudnick served on a panel to discuss the proposed new jail. Two area <br />retailers, Rick Stern and Randy Wimmer, were panel members also and spoke against the sales <br />tax option for financing a jail facility. Mrs. Quick asked if Mrs. Schneider, as portfolio <br />commissioner, has talked to the Sheriff about informational meetings with service clubs or <br />county citizen groups. Mrs. Schneider said she has not been informed of a meeting schedule <br />at this time. <br /> <br />20. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: North Dakota <br />Housing Finance Agency information on the 1999 Helping Housing <br />Across North Dakota (Helping HAND) Program. Motion carried. <br /> <br />21.
